Penske Racing Fires Kurt Busch

For the second time in his Sprint Cup Series career, an off-track issue has cost Kurt Busch his job.

Busch will not return next season to drive Penske Racing's No. 22 Dodge, multiple sources confirmed to the Observer and ThatsRacin.com on Sunday night.

An official announcement of Busch's departure from the organization is expected from Penske on Monday.

Just over a week ago NASCAR fined Busch $50,000 for the use of an obscene gesture and a profanity-laced tirade directed toward a media member during the Cup series finale race at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

The incident with ESPN reporter Dr. Jerry Punch, which took place in the garage after Busch's car broke its transmission, was caught on video and posted on YouTube.

Kurt Busch has the 6th most race wins out of current drivers on the Sprint Cup circuit with 24 in his career. He's also won a championship. If he doesn't get a ride and Dale 'The Snail' Jr. continues to get by on his daddy's name alone I'll never watch another race. I don't care if he's got a bad attitude. Most of these guys are pricks in real life. The fame gets to all of their heads. Kirt Busch can drive a racecar. And his brother can really drive a racecar. Thats more than can be said for half of the schmucks that are still on the circuit.

Dale Jr. has done quite a bit in his career, and as I said before should have had at least 3 wins, you could argue 4, but luck wasn't on his side. Part of being sucessful is getting the luck to be on your side.

Kurt doesn't deserve a ride, he can't be calling the team owner "dude" over the radio, you can't cuss out your own team week after week, and you certainley can't be attacking reporters on pit road.

I think the Busch's are assholes in general, and on the trakc thats fine but off is not professional. No team will want to sponsor someone like that, it makes your company look terrible.

As Chilly said he got a ride with James Finch and his team, I hope he is sucessful and wins some races. He even stated it he needs to find the fun in racing and I think he will with that team.
