Sam will be fighting Chase Owens a veteran in the sport who including is amateur career has 16 fights. Owen's earned an 8-2 amateur record including a NAAFS Championship and Since then has gone on to a 4-2 Professional Record including a TKO win at XFE Cage Wars XVII.

Sam last fought in March, for Matrix Fights V defeating Aung La Nsang via triangle Choke in the 2nd round. That was his first fight in almost a year after being defeated by Geidrus Karavackas at Bellator 44. After that fight in Bellator, Sam decided to leave his manager and long time trainers at the 'Philadelphia Fight Factory' and has since been working hard to move back up the ranks of welterweight prospects mainly with NJMA, Nak Muay Gym, and Balance Studios, He is now currently fighting for Team Balance.
