UFC or Bellator ? Alvarez decision coming soon
http://www.sherdog.com/videos/videoi...n-10-Days-4401
Eddie Alvarez discusses the decision process in his free agency with Sherdog.com’s Greg Savage. The lightweight slugger is currently weighing offers from the UFC and Bellator. For those unfamiliar with Eddie Alvarez (flex buff chest looking in your direction for some reason) He basically put Bellator on the map and early in his career gained notoriety for going to japan and beating some of their top guys. he boasts a 24-3 record and recently avenged his 2nd loss, by TKO of Shinya Aoki in the 1st round. He only has 1 other loss at Lightweight, to Micheal Chandler, the current Bellator champion. His first career loss was at Welterweight he started out fighting at the higher weight class and was 10-0 before losing the bodog fights Welterweight title to Nick thompson. I think it was when bodog closed that he went down to his current weight to fight. http://www.sherdog.com/fighter/Eddie-Alvarez-9265

doesnt sound good for the UFC. i think alvarez is better than lombard, so i hope they make it happen, but it doesnt look like it. i know he's been the face of bellator for a while, but i expected them to move on.

"Eddie Alvarez almost ready to say 'F!@# it' as UFC and Bellator contract negotiations get ugly" Earlier in December, the UFC extended an offer to Alvarez which Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney said he and his partners would take time to review. It came out Wednesday that Bellator decided to match the UFC's offer in order to hold on to their former Lightweight champion. Now it's up to the UFC's and Bellator's respective legal teams to battle out exactly what "matching" means, while Alvarez sits on the sidelines. And Eddie doesn't seem to be taking well: Edward Alvarez@Ealvarezfight I dont know if I can stay quiet any longer , I am very close at just saying F!@# it !!! Sry 4 all the BS guys, things will get figured out 3 Jan 13 ReplyRetweetFavorite Edward Alvarez@Ealvarezfight Guys its not Up to Me , Who I fight for ,Trust Me 3 Jan 13 ReplyRetweetFavorite It's unfortunate for Alvarez that in the midst of his prime he'll be forced to sit out of competition while this is resolved. However, the matching period is a part of the contract he signed with Bellator, so this was always a possibility. His only other option would have been to follow Vinny Magalhaes' example. In 2012, Vinny sat out for six months to avoid these same complications with M-1.
