RiverKings Sign Tyler Sheldrake

SOUTHAVEN, Miss. -- Mississippi RiverKings Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Derek Landmesser announced Monday that the team has signed defenseman/forward Tyler Sheldrake to a contract. Terms and conditions were not released.

"I'm very excited to have Tyler back in a RiverKings uniform," said Landmesser. "He will bring the 110% work ethic every night and adds a ton of grit to our lineup."

Sheldrake expressed his enthusiasm about returning to an organization he played for in 2010-11.

"It was a great organization to play for and having Mess as the coach was definitely something that attracted me to playing here again," said Sheldrake. "Mess was a great captain when I was there the first time and I'm excited to get the chance to play for him and with Stoddard again."

The 6'0" 200 lbs. defenseman broke into professional hockey with the Corpus Christi Ice Rays in the 2009-10 season. He enjoyed his first stint with the RiverKings in 2010-11 when he put up 84 penalty minutes along with a goal and an assist in 18 games.
