SOUTHAVEN, Miss. --
Mississippi RiverKings head coach and director of hockey operations
Derek Landmesser announced Monday that the team has signed fifth-year defenseman
Kyle Lundale to a contract for the 2012-13 season. Terms were not released.
"We are happy to have Kyle back with the RiverKings," Landmesser said. "He plays in all situations and he is a huge part of our defensive core."
Lundale had nothing but good things to say about his first year in the Mid-South.
"I didn't know what to expect when I first got here, but right away everyone was very welcoming and made me feel comfortable and at home," Lundale said. "On the ice, we came together a lot as a team throughout last season and that brings a lot of upside looking into next year."
The RiverKings originally acquired the rights to the Eriksdale, Man. native in the SPHL expansion draft last summer. The 5-11 blueliner recorded eight goals and 26 assists and led RiverKings defensemen in both categories in addition to points, power-play goals and shots on goal.
