RiverKings Re-Sign Kevin Fukala

SOUTHAVEN, Miss.-- Mississippi RiverKings Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Derek Landmesser announced today that the team has signed forward Kevin Fukala. Terms and conditions were not released.

"'Fukes' is a character guy who will do anything for his teammates on or off the ice," said Landmesser. "Our community will benefit as well from all the work Kevin does with local charities and churches and I am excited to see him back in a RiverKings uniform."

Fukala shares Landmesser's excitement for his returning to the RiverKings.

"I loved the organization and I really enjoyed playing in the building. The fans are great and I couldn't play with a better group of guys," said Fukala.

The Elgin, Ill. native is entering his third professional season in the 2012-2013 campaign. In two seasons, Fukala totaled more than 300 penalty minutes in 75 games. Last year, the 6'1", 215 pound forward registered 91 penalty minutes and two points in 27 games with the RiverKings before his call up to the Dayton Gems of the Central Hockey League (CHL).

Why is that? He's a good team guy, decent fighter, keeps games entertaining.

KR is just mad because his team hasn't signed a tough guy yet. And he's scared to death they won't.

My team is the Mississippi Surge. I hate everyone not on the Surge except Daniel Amesbury, Mitch Wall, and David Segal.

Booby - That is true. Our goalie may be our enforcer.

Bes doesn't like tough guys. He dumped Siers last year and never played him.

I for one wish the Antz would sign a tough guy that can win fights like in the
chl days we were tough but we were known as the Force back then.

He was very unnoticable last season, was this why he wasn't asked back? His fight numbers dropped pretty significantly, and I know I saw him on the ice a lot during last season....
