RiverKings Re-Sign Darrell Stoddard

SOUTHAVEN, Miss. -- Mississippi RiverKings Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Derek Landmesser announced today that the team has signed veteran forward Darrell Stoddard. Terms and conditions were not released.

"Stodds brings veteran leadership and he leads by example," said Landmesser. "He's a complete player that plays in all situations and will do anything to win. We look for Stodds to lead our team as we focus on our ultimate goal of an SPHL championship."

Stoddard had nothing but great things to say about the only professional team he has played for.

"The RiverKings and everyone in the organization have always treated me very well and I am very thankful for the opportunities and support they have shown me," said Stoddard. "I'm anxious to get going and I think we'll really benefit from our new additions along with Mess being able to put his team together from the beginning of the summer."

The 30-year-old native of Red Deer, Alta. is entering his eighth professional season in 2012-13. The South Alberta Institute of Technology product came to the RiverKings organization in 2005 and has registered over 100 penalty minutes in each of his seven seasons with the club. Last season, the 5-11, 185 pound forward notched 52 points (19G, 33A) in 54 games.
