RiverHawks Re-Sign Jason Price

Augusta, GA--The Augusta RiverHawks professional hockey club, proud member of the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) and reigning Coffey Trophy Champions, is pleased to announce that veteran defenseman Jason Price has re-signed with the Team for a third season.

Price, a native of Farmington Hills, MI, will embark upon his sixth season in the SPHL for the 2012-13 campaign. He has spent the last two seasons in a RiverHawks’ jersey, where he added 62 points. Price also served as an alternate team captain last season.

“I am excited that Jason will be returning this season. He’s a proven leader on and off the ice and I expect him to contribute both offensively and defensively,” remarked Rob Miller, RiverHawks’ Head Coach.

The 6’-3”, 27- year-old blueliner previously had stints in the now-defunct International Hockey League (IHL) and United Hockey League (UHL). Prior to his professional career, Price spent time in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) and the NAHL (North American Hockey League).

“Jason is a strong defenseman with a tremendous upside. After speaking with him over the summer, he stressed a desire to return, as he was very unsatisfied with the way last season ended. He truly wants to help bring a championship to Augusta,” commented Mark Richards, RiverHawks’ President.
