One of the best games I have been to since the original Renegades. I think that Lewis broke the fireantz nose in the first scrap he had. That was the best fight of the night. The gades played a solid game. Needham didnt play and Senft hurt himself in the Second.

Do either of you know who Cody Cole fought in the 2nd period? A couple of Gades players got penalties, but no roughing calls, let alone fighting majors.

Although he was not given a fighting penalty, Coyle was the one Cody "fought."

what ANTZFAN17 said, Cole fought Coyle, Coyle never dropped the gloves and basically took a beat down from Cole explaining the one fighting major.

none of the fights really amounted to much

Rollins vs. M. Ruberto, Rollins was the only one to really get a few punches in.

Buccella vs. Withers - Buccella was wanting to fight Beau, but Withers kept calling out Buccella if he wanted to fight it was going to be the two of them. so when the puck dropped, Buccella still tried to get Beau to go but Withers skated over to them to break it up and the two of them tangled up with Buccella getting a few in before both going down.

so neither fight was worth rating, really can't rate any of the fights as being worthy.

Lewis vs. Carlenius-Lewis was the only one to do damage, got two or three good upper cuts in and did spill a fair amount of blood, but not a good fight as it was obvious fighting wasn't Carlenius's thing.

all three fights were clearly off the face off, so no one jumped no one. granted Ruberto and Buccella challanged to get thier fights, but not sure about Lewis and Carlenius, Lewis didn't jump him like i keep seeing on another board, for whatever reason it was an accepted fight. wetehr Goudie told Lewis to challange him to send the message to the Antz bench to stop challanaging fights to our skilled guys or not i don't know, but it was nothing dirty on Lewis's or Goudie's part considering the two previous bouts seconds before being instigated by the Antz trying to change the momentum.

Cole vs.?(Coyle) i didn't see any high stick by Coyle, if it was, it was well before Cole did the beat down as Cole high sticked Coyle as he then preceded to continue the beating, Coyle just covered and dropped.

there was another kinda that just got misconducts between Trevor Kaz????(however you spell his name) and Colangelo(sp) Richmond just scored a goal which got waived off and Trevor made his way over to Colangelo from the middle of the ice and gave him a few blows before Colangelo covered, no idea what started this, but must have happened seconds before the waived off goal as Trevor went straight to him.

so nothing worth writing about here on the fights....even though i just did.

would like to know why Needham was a healthy scratch, heard he logged alot of ice time the night before, so wether getting a break or not don't know, but right now the Renegades bench looked loaded, so hope he is not the odd man out.

waiting to hear some word on the extent to Senfts injury. not looking good there as i think Bryce was acting as a emergency goalie really until they found a back up to Senft, now he will be starting and they will have to find a back up for him, not a good situation especially now that the team seems to have found alot of the missing pieces and are ready to play.

Well I got on here to post about the fights last night... I'm in Richmond visiting family and was at last nights game and will be at tonights game in the CAP ONE box.... I will not post anything because this was by FAR the most ACCURATE account of the night... I will have to say, as i have no allegiance to any SPHL teams, the Fireantz pulled some bullsh#$ antics last night as 2 of their "fights" were just jumping someone from behind...absolute crap... great post CMGADES... nice to see their were no homer opinions!!!

yes... puck was in Gades zone and Lewis just checked someone shoulder to shoulder against the boards and as lewis turned around to play the puck up ice... buccella jumped him from behind.. he looked like a monkey climbing a tree... lewis had his hand taped after the first fight so he couldn't take his gloves off.... he got a fighting major and didn't even drop his gloves or his stick... buccella is a pus#$

not a big fan of Buccella myself, but he is a nice fit in Fayetteville. his antics are about the only inspiritional thing that happened for them that night. saw on another sight someone saying he should be wearing the "A", think i'm starting to agree.

I still think that the opinions on the fights in Richmond are a bit one sided and you need to look at some of the other issues involved before putting all the blame on the Antz. The night before in Fayetteville Needham ran Collins and Buccella immediately when in and fought Needham. In years past I've seen guys run the goalie and nothing happened but clean up had to happen on Needham and it did.

The first 2 fights on Saturday were challenges on the face-off of guys of at least equal size by the losing team in a lopsided game. Then Buccella wanted to go with Mclaughlin a skilled player again of about equal size and then Whiters stepped in and protected his skilled player, and you have a problem with that. Now about 25 seconds later Lewis and Carlenius are along the boards and a fight breaks out with Lewis who is what 4 inches taller than a Swedish Defensmen who I don't think has ever been in a fight and beats him and spills a fair amount of blood. Are you really telling me that you didn't expect anything to happen to Lewis?

Cole takes a high stick from Coyle and then beats the crap out of him and he turtles and once again whats the damn problem at least Carlenius had the balls to fight even though he knew it wasn't his thing. Coyle took his beating like a little bitch in jail. So the game is even more out of hand and Buccella goes after Lewis and Lewis turtles also, he has no problem fighting with a skilled player but just covers up on the ice and you call out Buccella for taking up for a team mate and call him a puss, once again give me a freaking break. I think the fact that you guys all hate him just shows how valuable he is because the guy puts it out on the ice every shift checking guys in the boards and sticking up for his teammates. Buccella doesn’t take a shift off and I'm sure if Lewis wants to square up on a face-off next time they meet he'll accept his offer. My guess is that Lewis won’t even ask for another dance. I like they way you call out the Antz players and then gloss right over the crap that Richmond did like Karasiewicz going after Colangelo and once again what’s the size difference there.
