Mark Black released; SPHL going to hell

Heard this straitgh from the source.

Fuking sucks. I really hope there'll be at least a heavyweight or two in this league come December. Talk about retarded. This is the SPHL -- single god damn A hockey. Fans want to see the big boys throw blows. There is no reason for teams to be getting rid of their heavies, as fans want to see fights. Jesus christ -- this isn't the NHL. Of course organizations want to win championships, but at the end of the day, having a guy out there to throw down is what a lot of fans come to the rink to see.

What the **** is going on here

Black isnt it Im afraid.

Richmond waived Tippin today and the Antz waived Yovanic in the past week.

The only heavy left is Leslie (Moffat is on IR).

I think its BS when a beer league like the SPHL does away with fighters. I blame the roster size of 18. I think it should be expanded to make sure that teams can have AND keep some tough guys.

The SPHL will be extinct relatively soon if they keep this **** up.

This league is going to become nothing but a bunch of middleweight skill players that don't mind throwing down, like Kauffeldt. This could also be the result of Jacksonville's hiatus from the league. More of their skilled players are available for fewer teams, leaving little room for the enforcers.
SPHL needs some expansion.
Boy would I love to see Jax return, a team in Daytona, another team in Orlando and maybe Pensacola. Add some more teams in the Carolinas and Virginia and split the league into north and south divisions and have at it.
Excuse me while I go wake up from my dreaming right now.

have to say that is a very good estimate of what is happening with the enforcers. i also would like to see a north and south divisions, in its own little way, it kinda is with Richmond, Twin City, and Fayeteville being one, and Knoxville, Huntsville, and Columbus being the other. thats why i really don't see the Snakes getting into the playoffs this year, they play the majority of thier games against probally the best two teams in the league, while Richmond, Fayeteville, and Twin City will be knocking each others standings up and down all year.

Mark Black Released

Hey guys, I sort of saw this coming last week watching Twin City. Black was on the ice three times and three times he picked up a idiotic penatly. Noone wanted to fight him so he cross-checked one, sucker punched another, and elbowed another. I am all about fighting but against the #1 team in the league, you can't take penalties like this. There was not a soul on the Huntsville team that wanted any part of Black, so he tried to make someone go, but it did not work. I guess I will have to suffer through another Twin City season with only 1 legitimate fighter (Bartle) and he is too valuble on the ice to be in the box. Oh well, at least we have a team.

P.S. As far as other teams in NC, it will have to be somewhere other than Greensboro. The management at the coliseum there does not want a league lower than the ECHL, and would actually prefer a AHL team like before.....pisses me off because I used to be a season ticket holder in Greensboro.

we will see how long leslie lasts i heard straight from the source that goudie wanted to keep tippin but unless he was going to fight himself they couldnt the other teams made goudies decision to release tippin. i have a funny feeling once the ticket sales and fights go down the fighters will be brought back unless the teams are a little to late
