Kevin Kaminski has announced today the signing of Forward Marc-Andre Carre.
“Marc is a big kid with a great work ethic and is as talented as they come” says his old coach Bob Beatie.
Carre, a native of Baie Comeau, Quebec, comes to the IceGators hoping to get his first full professional season under his belt. Carre started his junior career in the QMJHL (Quebec Major Junior Hockey League) in 2008 with the Chicoutimi Sagueneens. In 2009 he would start his year off with the Lewiston MAINEiacs before moving to the SJHL (Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League) where he would play for the next 3 years with the La Ronge Ice Wolves. During his time with the La Ronge Ice Wolves he would play a total of 141 regular season games scoring 191 points (70 goals, 121 assists). During his time with the Ice Wolves Marc-Andre made the playoffs two out of the three seasons where he played 24 games with a total of 37 points (11 goals, 26 assists).
Marc –Andre’s former coach Bob Beatie says “he is the most talented and skilled player he has coached. He has great hands and vision and goes to the blue paint to score goals. The kid just loves the game and wants to show his stuff and improve to get to the next level.”
Following the 2011 season Carre would get called up to the CHL to play for the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees for the remainder of their season.
