The way you guys tell it, Ray Lewis is a convicted murderer. If you guys all saw him murder somebody, probably should have testified.
Who the **** cares if he stood trial and wasn't convicted for murder? Outside of that allegation I don't think I've ever heard anything but great things about Ray Lewis as a person. I also personally think he is the best Defensive player of all time, and I'll miss watching him every week. Also, before you go claiming bias, I've been a Fins fan since I was little. I just think the guys a hell of a football player and a great leader who plays with passion and intensity. If you don't like that, you're watching the wrong sport gents. |

its not always that simple but it seems to me that he paid to silence the families of the 2 killed guys

Easily one of the best, if not the best LB to ever play the game. I leave it at that though. Sure he was exciting to watch, and being a Pittsburgh fan he always added to the heated rivalry between the two teams, but I've always had a huge dislike for him. Partly because I am a Steelers fans, but mostly because he got away with murder simply because he has $$$.
He's one guy who has seemed to get a free pass from anybody involved in sports media. Other guys slip up and seem to be reminded of their miscues for years to come, whereas ESPN and other networks seem to have Ray Lewis on some sort of godly status. The guy is a POS, always will be, yet somehow seems to stay in the positive light with the media.

He was a great LB, I can't deny that. I feel he should not have played another down of football after that night.

He also has done a lot of things that left a stain on his career, that include tax fraud, cheating, and money laundaring. He also called out Big Ben for not playing through a concussion which was moronic because he sat out with turf toe. Such a diva.

I didn't say him not being convicted made him a great guy. I am just saying he was never charged with murder, yet you all claim to know he did it. What is the point in a trial then? Either way, no matter what you think about the guy, he is a beast of a football player and one of the best all time. |

how do you all know that he "got away with murder?" none of you were there. kind of a ridiculous thing to say. it's probably more likely that he initially covered for his friends' terrible act. sounds crazy but i'm sure a lot of us would do the same for a good friend in the heat of the moment. i will in no way condone his actions but it is no where near paying to get away with murder.
regardless of what you may think of him as a person, IMO ray lewis is the most consistently fierce competitor i have seen play any professional sport in my lifetime. his intensity level is always sky high and he plays at nothing but 100%. if you view his career from purely an effort involved in performance standpoint, there is no comparison to any other athlete IMO. |
