The two games where they allowed 23 points, they lost!
When looking at a QB, the defense plays a big role in their wins and losses. In 2007 and 2011, the Giants defense played very good in the playoffs and Eli won 2 SB's.
In the other seasons except for 2008, the Giants defense sucked!
Red Skelton was aided by a much better defense then what Kolb played with!
Great post Jack but who's Red Skelton?

Yes I do. Kolb flat out sucks. At least with Skelton expectations are quite low and he was already on the Cardinals roster. The Cardinals had to give up a lot for a sub-par QB and now they owe him a **** load of money he doesn't deserve. I highly doubt Kolb will ever be a successful starter in the NFL at any point. For the record I consider both Kolb and Skelton back up QB's. One just makes a hell of a lot less money.

I would have bolted but seeing his options being the Dolphins or nothing I would have chosen the 49ers as well.

The fact that we were able to get him so cheaply worries me though. I know he's coming off injury a year ago and that he apparently played pretty well last season despite him being a 4-3 backer and the Texans changing to a 3-4 but I'm still somewhat skeptical.

But he's better than what we have and at least the front office has finally acknowledged that there is a position on the football field known as the linebacker position. He should be the best we've had since Trotter.

It's a great gamble to be honest. I wouldn't worry about his operation, to be truthful he looked lost in the Texans 3-4 D, and will be much better in the 4-3 D the Eagles run. I got to see Ryans play at Bama and the kid was a freak. I hope he gets to the level I saw him play there.

Not to mention people were saying James Harrison would be slowed by his back surgery and yeah you know the rest.

im not too worried. i think part of it on the texans end was a salary dump b/c he makes decent $ for a LB. i really think its a perfect fit. i havent seen too much of him, but he seems athletic enough to move east to west quickly in this wide 9 scheme. i'm excited. now if only we had a safety.

Just saw Mike Wallace is asking for 8yrs $120 million or $15 million a season. That is just nuts. I'd let him walk at that rate.
