No way they take him unless they trade out of the top 5.

Kalil is the obvious choice. but Claiborne looks to be a beast.

I hope they don't do it. But, a MN team drafting a MN kid who had a great season - despite not being a top 5 pick, it makes too little sense for the Vikings not to do it.

I'd rather them take Kalil, Claiborne or Blackmon.

Sadly, we don't have 3 picks in the first 10 to address all 3 glaring holes that could be fulfilled in this one draft with amazing talents.

I watch Notre dame a lot and like Floyd, but if they take him in the top 5, they should hang Spielman from the metrodome rafters.

Even if they don't take Floyd, I'd still like to hang Spielman from the rafters.

It'll be very interesting to see what they do with that pick. Their are teams that want to move up, and by all rights need to move up to the 3rd spot. So trading down a couple spots, still having a shot at any of the 3 mentioned (excluding Floyd), and getting extra picks isn't a bad route.

I hated Chilly as a coach, but i gave him the credit for picking AD, Percy and Greenway. We will see what RS does when he is running the show. After his stint in Miami, I am quite worried.

No doubt that's a cause for concern.

Going into this offseason, with the talent available, and the Vikings have done NOTHING to address a single hole. Wide receiver need - outside of Percy, not addressed. Corners need (Asante Samuel was just had for a 7th round pick!), not addressed. Offensive line holes, not addressed.

I won't recap the entire roster need, but damn near everywhere needs something, and instead of getting anything, he stands pat with the team that just went 3-13 last year, and lets a couple good pieces go.

But, whatever. It's the nature of the beast with Minnesota franchises. For some reason, they over value the players on the roster, and don't look to address any glaring holes.

I think they don't want to help Frazier too much because they want him gone, but you can't really fire a guy after one year. Or maybe that's wishful thinking. Oh God.

Nothing is ever to early for the Vikings, especially after trading up for Ponder. Just a puzzling franchise. Missing their pick 2 years in a row doesn't help either.

Giants at #32 are always unpredictable. They take the best player available like two years ago at #15. They were killed for picking JPP and who is looking smart now.
In 2008 when they were the same spot after winning SB 42, they had a solid draft with Phillips, Thomas, Manningham, Goff, and Kehl who is with the Rams now. The sad things was all the knee injuries suffered by Phillips, Thomas, and Goff and Manningham was always knicked up but this was a solid draft and I expect another one by Jerry Reese, Marc Ross and company!
They might even trade down and get more picks!

They didn't miss their pick 2 years in a row. They didn't steal Dallas' pick when they missed the second time. In 2003 it was All their fault, but they still got the best player that day. Kevin Williams has had an awesome career. How are Leftwich and Jordan Gross doing? Not to mention the guys who ran that draft are long gone. The Vikes have drafted pretty good the last 6 years or so. I just wish they could figure out how to get a bargain in the later rounds. Picking Greenway, Peterson, Harvin and trading picks for Jared Allen surely isn't a failure.

ESPN seems to believe Tampa might trade up from 5 to 3 with Minnesota so that Tampa can get Trent Richardson ahead of Cleveland. Dropping from 3 to 5 for Minnesota still assures them one of Kalil, Claiborne, or Blackmon, and gets them at least a 3rd round pick and probably more.

As for Pittsburgh, add me to the Hightower list. ILB is a huge need, and he seems to be a gamechanger.

Sam Bradford would LOVE that pick!

Where do you guys see Courtney Upshaw going? Most likely a 34 defense? I don't think he is fast enough for a 43 WLB, but could he play with his hand in the dirt? He's an interesting pick...

Last I saw Leftwich has a ring...Just sayin. The Vikings as a whole have made some solid moves but Ponder is just not that good. Even my uncle who is an FSU alum and huge fan was like Jesus that is way too high. In fact Ponder was almost chased out of town for some of the horrible decisions he made with the ball.

Anyway Jason La Conforna or however you say his name thinks the Vikings are taking Blackmon. He expects them to trade down or just take Blackmon at 3. Solid move.

I'm ready to order my Hightower jersey once he gets picked. Our defense will be so mean if he gets drafted here.
