I'll go with AP. For some RB's having knee surgery would be the end or slow them down a lot. Hasn't lost a step.

Ap is amazing, but knee injuries and recovery stories are a dime a dozen. Reports back when had Manning not even strong enough to hold up his own head. A couple of neck surgeries is crazy

I thought Thomas Davis should be in this discussion as well. Honestly either one though should win. I would go with AP as well, Manning has played well, but seeing Peterson not missing a beat is just crazy.

This is a tough call...either one should also be in the running for MVP.

Peterson is still nearly unstoppable after blowing out his knee, and Manning is playing close to the level he was before he had multiple neck surgeries.

Jeez...I gotta go with Manning, while AP gets MVP honors, because he sat out a whole year and even traveled overseas for surgery. I also think there is a much lower probability of playing at a competitive level after having surgery on your neck. There is a lot more that can go wrong. Knee surgery is pretty commonplace, although I do not want to take anything away from what AP is doing. Especially running all over the Bears yesterday.

Co-Comeback Players of the Year anyone???

it's Manning's NECK. AP is awesome, but for ****s sake, Manning had several NECK surgeries!

so? peterson gets hit every time he touches the ball and has everyone going for his knees...manning gets hit not even 1/5th of the time compared to peterson. just cause manning had neck surgeries, doesn't mean that it's more of a miracle about the stats he's putting up.

I'll give this to AP cause the only award I care about is the Lombardi trophy.

you're right. the neck has nothing to do with the rest of your body's functions. jesus christ.

and i was referring to him being a human being, playing a sport at the highest possible level, after having surgeries on his neck. not how often he gets hit in a game.

can't use that considering if he wasn't healthy he wouldn't be playing unlike peterson who would still be playing even if not fully healthy from surgery. big difference that can't be used as a reason for manning.

Good thread, and very difficult to decide. I went with Peterson, but I can argue just a much for siding with Manning. Both had very significant injuries, both of which could have been career ending for other people. While I think Manning's injury was much more serious in terms that had the surgeries not been a success he could have had life-long complications with his neck, and Peterson probably could have lead a fairly normal life with a busted knee, in terms of football playing ability comeback,...I gotta go with AP. He could potentially break Eric Dickerson's single season record less than a year after being in a hospital bed with a ripped up knee.

I hate Manning and would vote against him for anything.
