Syracuse went toe to toe with USC for the better part of four quarters today. Orange offensive line and defensive lines were pushing back the Trojan lines early in the game and still were winning in the trenches late in the game. But damn do the Trojans have some playmakers! Four or five huge plays won the game for the Trojans.
Orange may have lost the game but the future is bright. People are excited around here for the first time in a decade. |

(i'm an Arkansas fan, just in case that had never been established)
me and my old lady watched the game last night and immediately afterward i said they should be cut from the top 25. it was just pathetic. even with all the injuries, that's just embarrassing.

The SEC might cut them for that loss.

What a bad bad week for the big-10, though a good one for the Pac!
Anyways, Arkansas proving that preseason polls are ridiculous, and that the way the SEC is favored is disgusting. ESPN couldn't get enough of TAMU and Mizzou 'couldn't hang with the sec boys'. Get real. Also, I love the fact that Denard Robinson is God again to ESPN because UM squeaked out a win at AFA. |

Hell of a week coming up this weekend in college football.
-Wake Forest heads to #5 Florida State For whatever reason, the Demon Deacons play FSU pretty tough. They've split the last 4 meetings, and the Noles will look to erase the heart breaking 35-30 loss last year. It's also a potential trap game for the Noles with top 15 ranked Clemson on the horizon. I'll take the Seminoles with a statement win by at least 20. -#1 Bama going to Arkansas SEC opener for the Tide, and Arkansas is looking to get back into the top 25 after a historic drop from the rankings. No greater way to do that than beat the top ranked team in the land. I don't see the upset, but I see it being a bit closer than it should be... Bama by 10-13 points. -#18 Florida heads to the Rocky Top to meet up with #23 Tennessee I haven't quite figured out why Tennessee is ranked, but apparently you can never have enough SEC teams ranked (IMO, Northwestern deserves it more having faced two D1 schools). But, here we are as the Gators open up SEC play with the Vols. I liked what I seen with Gators against TAMU, so I'll take the Gators on the road by 6. -#20 Notre Dame heads to East Lansing for a game with #10 Sparty It's a big game for both teams. The Irish need the win to justify actually being ranked, and Sparty needs all the help they can get with ranked wins (considering their is always a way to rape them and get Michigan into a bowl game). Notre Dame struggled with Navy, and they face a whole different animal on the ground this week. I'll take Sparty in a VERY close game, coming down to a 3 points. -#2 USC heads to Palo Alto to play #21 Standford USC looked awful last week and was taken to the limit by a game Syracuse team while the Cards have survived SJSU and Duke. I will take this as my upset game. I'm not liking what I seen from the Trojans. They couldn't run the ball, if you double bracket their main weapons with the safeties and corners, they turn into a completely different team - and you can move the ball on their defense. I'll take Stanford in the upset by a couple points. -#14 Texas heads to Mississippi to play Ole Miss I'll take this as my second upset game. Quite frankly, I'm shocked the Rebels aren't ranked. I mean, they're an SEC team and they have two wins already - one against a D1 school. Either way, I don't see Texas QB David Ash having the kind of video game day he had against New Mexico with an SEC team/defense. I'll take Ole Miss by a field goal.

I don't know how Tennessee is looking, but the 2 games I have seen Florida they have stunk. Completely disagree with your statement "I liked what I seen with Gators against TAMU", unless you don't like UF. Then again, I had to leave just before halftime of that game while TAMU was just steam-rolling FLorida. In my opinion MSU is the class of the Big-10 this year, and ND coming into East Lansing will be (hopefully) in for a long day. I think USC destroys Stanford. Yeah, they didn't seem to do much against Syracuse, but even looking that bad they put up over 40 points. To me USC is a team which starts slow always, and then picks it up (only to lose to a horrible Pac team near the end of the season). As for Stanford, I am most definitly not sold on this team deserving a ranking. As for Texas and Ole Miss...I have no clue! |

One other thing: at the end of the UCLA/Nebraska first half UCLA called 2 of their three timeouts before the field goal attempt to finish the half.
Since when could you call two timeouts consequtively? Or have I just never realized it could be done? |

The first half was just terrible for the Gators, but man did they flip the switch in the 2nd half. The defense made amazing adjustments to completely shut down Johnny Manziel. The only issue, they couldn't ****ing put the ball in the endzone. But, they controlled the game entirely in the 2nd half.
