Of all the teams Northern Illinois could get in a Bowl game, I think FSU is probably the worst they match up with.

The Noles defense is built for speed and attack, which normally limits quarterbacks a lot... and NIU relies on Lynch running a lot.

I won't make an official pick yet, so to follow the general rule to wait a month and see who gets injured in practice and kicked off the team/suspended because they couldn't follow a curfew.

im right there with ya on that pick. FSU too fast sideline to sideline with there LB's. Lynch gonna have a super tough time running

Kansas State’s Collin Klein, A&M’s Johnny Manziel, ND’s Manti Te’o are the three Heisman finalists.

Be cool to see a pure defensive player win the award - and Te'o might very well be the best player in the country - but Manziel, with his total offense number, will be very difficult for many to vote against.

One of the more interesting Heisman votes I can recall.

Man horrible news for us Pitt fans hearing Bielema is going to Arkansas. Paul Chryst will probably be at the top of their wish list. Sad but true we could see Pitt hiring its 7th coach in 4 years.

TPK..Even though I have never met Barry Alvarez.I have the utmost respect for that guy for coming out and saying that he wouldn't even consider Chryst for the job because it wouldn't be fair to Pitt, and he wouldn't feel right about doing that to them.Especially when they did him a favor by hiring Chryst. It's a little refreshing to know that there is at least some honor left in the world of college football. And it's a slap in the face to college football as well.

Yeah it was good to hear that and even better to hear Chryst take his name out of the running. It's got to be tough for him considering that is most likely his dream job.

Good to see Pitt will have a coach for more than one year finally.

Johnny Football wins the Heisman. The Alabama game put him on the map and won the trophy. Hard to argue against his stats but it would have been nice to see a pure defensive player in Te'o win it.

Will we ever see a pure defensive player win the Heisman?

its hard for defensive players to win it, because qb is the most important position

Eh I think the number 1 team in the country right now could argue with that.

I think we will see it one day. Then again most people who vote on the Heisman just absorb what the media tells them, rather than actually watching a lot of games.

No ****. They should go to the PAC or Big 12 and call it a day.

As if Northern Illinois didn't need any added motivation for its match-up against Florida State Tuesday night in Miami, the Huskies got a little more. And it comes from an unlikely place: a rant from an Orange Bowl representative towards an NIU staffer.

“You guys [NIU] don't even deserve to be here,” the Orange Bowl rep said to the NIU staffer. “We didn't even want you here.”

quite classless if you ask me...yeah you may not be happy about it, but keep your mouth shut and don't let it out especially if you want fans to watch your usually bad bowl game (see last year's debacle).

it was classless ill admit that, but NIU didnt deserve to be in a bcs bowl. They flat out getting manhandled. Its only halftime and score should be alot worse if not for a few miscues.
