The best part was the kick-off with 2 seconds left in the first half. The hockey radio announcers I was listening to (it was intermission) were saying that hopefully Nebraska didn't find a way to fumble and give up a TD on the kick...

NIU is supposed to play fsu in the orange bowl. Lynch is a good qb, but i think FSU gonna win with that defense they got

I'm surprised NIU made it in. ESPN is ripping the BCS right now because it happened.

But I think all bets are off when kids from a MAC school are playing the biggest game of their career against FSU who would typically schedule this team as an early season warm up.

why the hell is espn complaining? they are should get some very good ratings for the game...remember boise state vs oklahoma and the ratings that fox got for that one?

anyways, good for niu, though too bad their head coach left for nc state (bad move imo).

Agreed. I would much rather see if NIU can pull off an upset than watch Oklahoma/FSU, which has 0 intrigue factor.

While Boise/Oklahoma was one of the greatest games of all time, this scenario also produced Georgia/Hawaii, in which Hawaii got crushed. Hopefully this game will be competitive.

Dick move that their coach isn't sticking around for the bowl.

i think this team can fair alot better that hawaii team because they can run and pass ala boise state, hawaii was pass only and if it was shut down, they were screwed.

My interest cranks up on January 4th when Texas A&M plays OU (Cousins went to A&M), then Pitt plays Ole Miss in what's essentially a road game, and of course Bama playing ND (family and friends from 'Bama).

ULM vs Tech would've been a awesome game too. Both those teams held in there with the SEC this year.

It's their own fault. If the directors who made that decision chose to play for pride in their school and its football program, instead of greedily holding out for a chance at more money, they'd be good to go.
