the real question is, even if Notre Dame is undefeated, do you really want to see them in the NC game?

I know there are a lot of ND haters, but I have no clue how people who love tough hockey and football hate them so much. They beat the crap out of people. Why do you think they always win the close games at the end? Because they make people sick of getting snotbubbled. Oklahoma players were lying all over the field in the fourth quarter. They were done.

Pigfarmer, I don't follow the whole BSC rankings and computer crap. Did I hear ND is number 1 in one computer and number 2 in another? How could they hold an undefeated ND team out that just beat USC (If, of course)?

I also love how Stanford will be a huge win for Oregon, but nobody mentions it being a huge win for ND. Same with USC. They also treat Manti Te'o and the heisman talk like Ron Paul gets treated by CNN and Fox. Totally political BS. Although i think that has less to do with ND, and more to do with him being a defensive player. That's why I ignore all that rankings talk. I'll care about that when they have a playoff in a couple of seasons.

thats the scary part for me..the fact that if they made it, they would have at least a 30% chance of winning. Would be almost an invalid season if ND won the BCS this year.

Am I the one who is going to go bat****? Dude, I'm a Vikings fan. I don't go bat**** unless one of my teams wins something. Which almost never happens.

Let's just hope your if about this season ending like 2006 is the same as your prediction for that Oklahoma game. You also said they would go 10-2 and lose in a bowl game. Maybe WF can shock the world for you, so you have chance at being right.

So Mr. Pink, I'm not sure I understand. Are you saying if ND finishes the season undefeated and was to beat another undefeated team in the championship game (Oregon or KSU), they wouldn't deserve to be champs?

It would be very easy for them to keep ND out, because of the rankings BS. Say KSU loses (or oregon), that makes 3 and 4 Bama/Georgia. Given the extra game due to having a conference championship either of those SEC teams gets a 'quality' win over a top 4 team.

I think you have Oregon getting to play that 13th game, so they are above ND, but I am surprised at how KSU is over ND, especially when you figure that ND came into the Big12 this year and beat up Oklahoma, plus no championship game.

I'm a ND hater, I don't want them to win. Though I think they would certainly deserve the shot, no, I don't want to see them there. But that is my own bias...

If any of what we talked about happens, and they keep ND out, they would lose more credibility than they did with that awful championship game nobody watched last season.

Beating Oklahoma and USC on the road, and keeping them out? I'm not saying you're wrong, nothing would surprise me with money grubbing cons, but it will be BS if it did happen.

I was just saying how I could see it happening easily. And its not like they have any credibility to lose anymore, so what the hell do they care?

And just to make sure I am clear, an undefeated ND team should be in over any 1 loss IMO.

If ND runs the table they would be most certainly qualified to be in the title game, they probably wouldn't do any worse than Ohio St did the last two times they were in it.

Should be more worried about KSU and ORE staying undefeated than the SEC champ if you're a ND fan. 0% chance they jump either of those 2. While the SEC champ thing is 50/50.

I think we should worry about who they have to play. They still have to beat USC in Cali, no easy feat.

I believe one of the top two teams will lose for sure, so if ND can stay unbeaten, they will have a chance, imo. Big if though. Whatever happens, I hope there are no SEC teams in the big game though.

oregon trumps notre dame unfortunately with road wins if they go undefeated...oregon would have beaten usc on the road along with oregon state and not to mention will have also beat a stanford team that notre dame barely beat at home.

k-state has wins over oklahoma state, oklahoma (road), texas tech along with the same type of ass whipping over miami. not yet done either is a game vs texas. those 3/4 wins trump the notre dame wins over oklahoma and usc.

notre dame is #3 and there should be no questioning about them being higher. if they had done what oregon and k-state have done to opponents then maybe, just maybe there is an argument.

On the other side of the page is Kansas State. Kansas State and Notre Dame both beat Miami by nearly 40 points. However, the Wildcats played Miami in Manhattan while Notre Dame won on a (fairly) neutral surface.
Kansas State won a close game at Oklahoma 24-19. Notre Dame handled them by 17 points at the same place.
Overall, Kansas State has beaten 4 top 25 teams including one top 10 squad – the exact same totals that Notre Dame holds.

And why does scoring more points trump giving up fewer points?

Is that just about ratings or something?

BTW, i don't want it to sound like I'm debating this garbage. Imagine if we decided who was going to win the NFC because The Giants beat their teams by a greater margin than the Niners. I was just playing devil's advocate.

It's absolutely ridiculous, and goes against anything we were taught in our youth and every other sport.
