and in all honesty, it doesnt matter about what teams stats are ranked, its all about match ups these days. I like oregon and kstate, but id love them play a legit defense as well

bama fell to 4th in the AP polls, so they realistically have a chance to get back in the NC.

Right? I always cry about SEC getting a free pass, and now I am sorta mad that I probably won't see Oregon/Bama....

Anyways, I thought it was funny, during one of the games last night they put up the top 5 and who they were playing next week:

In the top 5 there is Bama and Georgia, and they are playing Western Carolina and Georgia Southern...

Then ND, Oregon, and KSU are playing Stanford, Wake, and Baylor.

Not saying that those 3 are great teams, but at least they are in real conferences.

I love how in any other conference a loss this late in the season would preclude any chance of going to the 'championship' game.

Crazy to think he is just a freshman too. Putting up huge numbers and usually only plays 3 quarters of the game.

Florida played La-Lafayette this week and has Jacksonville St. next. Talk about cruising into their FSU game

I think with SEC teams losing these games/being played closely (blocked punt to win!) it is really exposing how they are just bye weeks built into their schedule to prepare for bigger games. You mention Florida going into FSU. Look at the second to last game for every SEC team going into rivalry games.

God, just listening to the interviews of players and the coach for Bama, all they were doing was making excuses for being tired/beat up. Welcome to actual college football where you play every week!

Oh without a doubt he is the best qb that oregon has had in quite some time. Mariota and johnny football are my 2 favorite players to watch

Yeah I don't get how they are the only conference that schedules that way. It really makes the end of their season anti-climatic. Florida is actually finishing the season with 3 straight non-conference games.

Or are they just crap offenses? Its just an ESPN claim that it is the top conference. Imagine what their defensive numbers look like if they have to play week-in and week-out against Pac-12/Big12 offenses? Up front they are definitely physical, but look at what happens when you have a QB hit players in stride instead of the usual SEC where the reciever is at a stand still waiting for the ball.

Johnny football is amazing but lets be real here theres not many like him in college football bro. His legs and ability to make plays on his own is what beat alabama. pac 12 and big 12 wouldnt put up tons of points on the better teams in the sec. Would they be great games? absolutely. But lets not go overboard here.

There is no way to say for certain. The only time we will see these sorts of games is after teams have had a month off to rest and prepare for bowl games. And what exactly makes better teams in the SEC? Look at all those one loss teams, who did they play out of conference? There is simply no way to compare anything, except that they can beat midlevel/lower tier out of conference teams (Michigan/Washington).

thats prolly where people disagree with me, but i believe the sec is so tough that they dont really need a strong out of conference schedule cuz they are already playing the best teams in the country in the sec. But i know peoples opinions vary, but like you said no way to tell til we can get a matchup to see.
