2013 Pro Football Hall of Fame Finalists Announced

http://www.profootballhof.com/enshrinement/2013/1/...

My picks would be:

(1) Larry Allen, LG - Most deserving offensive linemen since Munoz, and in that same class of "all-timer" [Dream line: Munoz-Hannah-Webster-Alle n-Williams]; the best player among this year's finalists.

(2) Jonathan Ogden, LT - After Munoz, arguably the greatest tackle in the history of the sport.

(3) Aeneas Williams, DB - The only DB among this year's finalists, and the best defensive candidate.

(4) Tim Brown, WR - I've been a big fan of Timmy since his Notre Dame days, and I thought he was slightly better than Carter and Reed.

(5) Bill Parcells, Head Coach

(6) Curley Culp, DT - My senior pick

My rankings by "position" (for positions with more than one finalist) -

WRs
Brown
Carter
Reed

OL
Allen
Ogden
Shields

DL
Sapp
Strahan
Haley
Culp

LBs
Greene
Robinson

Owners
Debartolo, Jr.
Modell

Opinions?

As a Buffalo fan Reed has to get in. No question. Strahan deserves to be in. The one thing that will haunt him will be his dubious sack record. This is how a the HOF should be, impossible for nobody to get elected.

My personal favorite among the three receivers, but would you rank him ahead of Brown and Carter?

Hope Bettis and Greene get in. I would love to have both go in, love traveling to Canton to see them get inducted.

To best honest I'm just basing my ranking on the team he played for not the stats . :lookaround::I So yes Reed in front of others. :approve:

I think Brown and Carter should get in before Reed. I'd like to see Greene get in simply because how many NFL HOF players can add they fought the NWO on PPV besides him? ;)

That's crazy. Should be on his HOF résumé

nWo attack Harlem Heat, DDP, Giant, Flair, Piper...

larry allen was a freakish physical specimen, one of the mosts dominant linemen ever. he's a lock to go in.
i also like ogden a lot.
i think big tuna and art modell are set too.
my personal fave defensive player of the lot is charles haley- he should be in there as should sapp
i dunno about cris carter though

anyone think that brown spouting his mouth off about callahan throwing the super bowl is too get voters to see that even though he didn't win a super bowl, it wasn't because of him? just a random conspiracy theory myself and a co-worker came up with...timing fits

My picks would be the same as Churla22's except I'd also put one of Sapp, Strahan or Haley in this year as well. I would've liked to see John Lynch get in this year as well but he somehow didn't make the cut as a finalist.

Next year, I hope the seniors committee recognizes some of the great Raiders from 70's that should be in the hall like Jack Tatum, Ray Guy and Phil Villapiano.

Not sure about the intent, but, unfortunately, I think it works against him.

The fact that Ray Guy is not in is a joke; there is no player whose name is more identifiable with a given position.

I would of chosen either Haley or Strahan ahead of Sapp! The Football HOF is tough, really tough as opposed to MLB because there are so many great players and alot of it isn't about numbers!
Parcells wiped the floor with the 1980's and 1990 49ers in the playoffs winning 3 out of 4 times and outscoring the Montana 49ers 91 to 40 in 4 games!
The west coast offense under Montana held to 40 points in 4 playoff games by the Parcells Giants!
What dominance!
He also wiped the floor with Joe Gibbs the one time they met winning 17-0 to go to SB 21!
Parcells defense plays Walsh and Gibbs four times in the playoffs and holds them to 27 points in the four games and in the so-called 3-peat game holds the Seifert led Niners to 13 points!
Defensive Dominance and 108 to 40 in points in those five games!:approve:
BTW, Jim Burt and Leonard Marshall each blasted Montana knocking him out of two of the games!
