Sounds like John Miller when he was with the Giants...

A lot of entertainment value with that guy

Francesa and Russo still get a kick out of listening to his play calls, as do some of the "national" guys - Fox, ESPN, etc.

How much blame do the Yankees fans place on Girardi for sending Swisher up to the plate late in game 5 with 2 outs and bases loaded? Everyone on the planet knows Swisher is a failure with 2 outs and RISP and it was expected he would fail yet Girardi sends him up there anyway.

Honest question here:

Single instances of strikeouts notwithstanding, how has he been since the Yankees took him? I always thought that wasn't a really good singing by the yankees, but then again, numbers can change a lot going from the colliseum to about any other park.

Of all the Yankee players to have at least 50 ABs (maybe 100, 150 whatever the number) in the playoffs, and there have been a ton of them, he has the all time lowest BA. Ever. In their entire history.

Of course between Oakland and the Yankees there was a stop on the White Sox. That didnt work out to well either.

You just cant make this stuff up!

Lets put it this way...If you combine his numbers since he joined the Yankees they would be better numbers production-wise of any outfielder that played for the Detroit Tigers during that same period.

He's been good - averaging 85 runs, 85 RBI, and 27 dingers a year, with an .854 OPS. He's also been solid in the field and, by all accounts, in the clubhouse, as well.

As stated, he has been less than stellar in the postseason.

The Yankees are one of those franchises who build a team around winning it all.
do you really think it's a good signing when Swish is perhaps the worst post season player in the history of baseball? Is it an indication the Yankees dont want to win it all or just dont know how to build a team to win it all?

The Yankees top guys are all about the COIN!! George, hate him if you want, but he was all about winning. Obvously with winning comes money, but the guy wanted nothing more than to win every single year. His dip's for sons have no idea what it takes to win. All they want is the money.

I like swisher and I love the excitement and action and fun he brings to the game but lets face it, excitement and fun dont win championships. For the money they spent on him there are plenty of better options and like I said I like him but we couldve gotten better.

We need clutch playoff guys. But then again, Swish does play all positions in the outfield, he can play 1st and lets not forget he can Pitch hha

And, of course, part of winning it all is getting there. Swish has been a solid contributor during the regular season. Hell, he's got a title; I'm not that worried. Are you?

Yeah, Swish is only PART of that problem. Tex? A-Rod? Nick's lack of postseason production vs. salary is nothing compared to some others' woes.
