We should see Cirillo in the lineup soon. The way Tyner is hitting, I like him as a DH.....only I believe Cirillo should play against tough lefties......I wish it were five or six years ago, though. This way we can just slot him at third base and bat him second. How good would our lineup look then?
NO PUNTO in the two hole!
Cirillo from 5 ago, would be a luxury. But lets face it, that would mean that he's close to, if not in, his prime - and Ryan NEVER brings guys in during their primes. So that would be out of the question.

Now if he could get that form back, god that would be great. Every game I see Punto - I want to break the TV and yell a bunch of slurs at him. I just cant help it anymore.

On Kazmir... I'm hoping for a good offensive game, but we rarely see back to back offensive explosions, so I'm looking for us to give Kazzy and easy night and either not swing at anything - or pop **** up and do a whole lot of nothing.

Freakin' Nathan. What is his deal right now?

All he has to do is come in and get three outs. Instead he gives up a bunch of two out singles to the Devil Rays and this game is tied.

Hunter is just killing right now and it's too bad.

Let's see if Guerrier can keep the Twins from losing

I found it kind of comical, the way the base runner tripped and fell rounding third. I was praying we'd captilalize on that and get out of the inning - but no.

You're right. Hunter is ripping it up right now. He's really making it hard to pass on him come the offseason and he's a free agent. But, lets see him keep this going all year long eh?

What the **** is Nathan's issue? He is usually lights ****ing out, yet he cant get an out if his life depended on it. We see it every year, a closer just loses it and falls apart. I hope this isnt Joe's year to collapse and kill everything...

How the **** do we lose, when Nick Punto has a perfect game at the plate?

Oh yeah, when Mauer and Morneau leave an army on base...

Carlos Silva on the mound, with the BoSox in town... god that sounds like a terrible combo.

Wakefield hasnt been that good this year, so hopefully his struggles are bad enough to overcome any short comings Silva will likely give up.

Punto gets 4 hits in a game and we LOSE

Silva pitches a gem and we LOSE

This will be a long season. Hopefully we aren't ten games back by the time we go to Shea in June!

Damn did Santana look awful tonight.

Thankfully, we got just enough offense to pull something out - and Joe Nathan went back to his lights out form tonight.

Santana and Nathan are not quite what they have been the last two years. Hopefully they turn it up a notch.

All these injuries are really starting to mount.
EVERYONE in our lineup seems to be banged up. Mauer is a HUGE concern.
If he is out for an extended period of time I cannot see REdmond holding the fort down for very long because he gets KILLED behind the plate.
Cuddy's back is not quite right, Castillo seems to struggle with the turf and his quad all year, Torii being hit in the face with a pitch, Cirillo's knee kept him out for a month.......Rondell White, of course is perpetually on the DL.....little Nicky was out for a stint a week or two back

It's amazing how this team constantly scuffles with itself and yet WINS more than it loses.

It is amazing how the team just keeps working along, even with most of the "good" players shelved. Last night, Redmond took a ball - well - right in the balls, and kept on going. Took about 3 seconds to shake his head, and he was right back at it. I've never seen a catcher take the abuse he does behind the plate, and constantly keep up his play.

On the topic of Castillo, some guys are ment to play on grass and arent ment to play on turf.... he's one of them. I've been lucky enough to play football and lacrosse on the metrodome turf, and while its head and shoulders better than the carpet, its still far away from natural grass. You do come away from a game on that stuff with the usual muscle tightness and sore spots. Playing on it 80+ games can do that to certain players - hopefully he changes up his spikes or does something to relieve some of that strain from that fake grass.

And the offense fails to make yet another appearance this afternoon...
