If Braun does get exonerated, how bad does this make ESPN look? This was a gaint story and ESPN wanted to be the first to spill it but there such a think as being smart. Either way ESPN did the wrong thing.

What does ESPN have to look bad about? MLB is who will look bad.

Still waiting.........if Braun had something would it not have come out by now.
How long does it take to make up a story about why you tested positive?

On another forum i lurk at, the day the story originally somebody posted a story. The story goes, a friend of a friend knew somebody that hooked up with him back in October, just before the positive test. The woman who hooked up with contracted herpes and the positive test is being blamed on a steroid for treatment. Who knows if it is true, but he is trying to blame the positive test on medication iirc.

I'm not totally satisfied with this ruling.

I want to hear what he actually took, or if he didn't, how the test got screwed up.

I fully support his decision to take whatever it was.

Chain of custody wasnt followed.

He got off on a technicality.

Now he talks of this restoring his integrity and reputation.

He's far removed from reality like a lot of athletes.

Fukin cheater.

Look at this, the Mets players agree with us:

Plenty of skeptics in NY Mets clubhouse after Ryan Braun wins appeal of 50-game ban for performance-enhancing drugs

One player calls Braun's chain-of-custody defense 'a joke'

By Andy Martino / NEW YORK DAILY NEWS

PORT ST. LUCIE - Deep skepticism about Ryan Braun's claims that he did not use performance-enhancing drugs pervaded the Mets clubhouse on Friday.

"Ryan Braun is out there saying this shows he is innocent," one Met said. "Does that mean O.J. Simpson is innocent, too?"

RYAN BRAUN WINS APPEAL OF 50-GAME BAN, MLB DISPUTES RULING

Although disagreement between their union and league about Braun left players feeling awkward discussing the issue publicly, many in the Mets' clubhouse were uncomfortable with the N.L. MVP's successful appeal of a 50-game suspension for performance-enhancing drugs.

On Thursday night, Braun became the first MLB player to successfully challenge a positive test. The Milwaukee outfielder took issue with the chain of custody of his urine sample, which sat in the house of one of the collectors for two days, before being shipped to the lab.

LUPICA: ARBITRATOR'S DECISION TAKES US FOR DOPES

Addressing the media at Brewers camp in Arizona Friday, Braun insisted on his innocence, but did not propose an explanation for his elevated testosterone level.

"I would bet my life this substance never entered my body," Braun said.

"Oh, wow," a Mets player said on Friday, after hearing of Braun's chain-of-custody explanation. "That was his defense? Now every positive test is going to be challenged. That could be a mess."

Added a third player: "What a joke."

Another Met said: "Seems like he's guilty."

Major League Baseball clearly agreed with the clubhouse view, saying in a statement Thursday night that it "vehemently disagreed" with independent arbitrator Shyam Das' decision.

Mets general manager Sandy Alderson, a former executive vice president for MLB, declined to comment on Braun, saying he did not have enough facts about the situation.

David Wright also said he was unable to take a position on whether his fellow N.L. star should have won his appeal - but the third baseman was pleased to see due process evident in Braun's appeal.

"You're glad that the process worked," Wright said. "That's why we have that process in place.

"If you try to cheat the system, I am the first one to say I hope you get caught. But it is good to see that the appeal process worked. Whether you agree or disagree with the decision, you can't argue the fact that the whole process seemed to work."

When it was mentioned to another player that Braun did not have the muscled look of the prototypical steroid user, the player said, "Yeah, but looks can be deceiving. You never know from looking at guys if they are doing something."

Yeah, to say the least it is was a weak "technicality". So overnight somehow the urine sample got compromised. Sounds like a bad movie plot.

I don't know what they were reading, and what concentrations they are at, but from 4 to 20 doesn't seem like a big difference, and I am surprised it would even be considered above a baseline.

I get my blood tested once a month because I am on bloodthinners for life(I have a defective gene that throws clots) and my INR range is 2-3. I usually test around 2.2 to 2.6. So if I had a number of 5, you might claim not having a clue what the numbers mean, big deal, a 5 is close to a 2 or a 3 but in reality my ass would be rushed into the hospital!
If our testosterone is number is supposed to be a 4:1 and it's a 20:1, that sound like a huge number!
Bottomline is he is a big cheat!

"Guilty" until proven so, I see. Though not a government issue, this is the perfect example of why we have 'Due Process' in this country.

Sad how it is guilty until proven innocent, not innocent until proven guilty.
