That was special to watch - can't think of a better way to make you first ever post season appearance - congrats and good for Doc!
Wish it could have been done in a Blue Jays jersey though.....

I hope the Cy Young votes weren't all casted already, because now, although playoffs have no bearing on season awards, Doc is the hands down winner!
Best pitcher in baseball, not even close.

Yeah, Halladay just made the best offense in the National league look like a bunch of blind people trying to hit a baseball with a broom stick. Outstanding performance, no other way to put it.

The guy had zip tonight, breaking balls incredible, first pitch fastballs on point. His only walk on a 3-2 count, 104 pitches, just feel privileged to watch.

Honestly I think a lot of Toronto fans are pretty proud. We've all known for years he's the best pitcher in baseball but he never had the team behind him. It was obvious that Halladay's chances of winning a title in Toronto were non-existent.
Now that he's in Philadelphia, I've spoken to a number of Jays fans who're in full support of the Phillies this post-season because of Halladay's presence. We knew the relationship wouldn't last forever so many of us are just happy to see him doing well and having a chance to win. |
