Rangers trade for Cubs catcher Geovany Soto

The Texas Rangers made the trade for Geovany Soto official on Tuesday morning, acquiring the catcher from the Chicago Cubs along with cash considerations for minor league pitcher Jacob Brigham and a player to be named later or cash.

To make room for Soto, catcher Yorvit Torrealba has been designated for assignment. Soto is expected to be in uniform for Tuesday's game with the Los Angeles Angels.

Interesting. There has been talk of Soto going somewhere, but I thought the Cubs would look to try and keep him . The Rangers made out OK here, as Soto is a decent hitter and a good catcher. Wonder what the Cubs long term solution will be behind the plate...

What was I thinking by saying long term concerning our Cubs? Chances are, the front offices at Wrigley don't even know
