Dude, I think I need to go back to college after reading this. I might get my hand on Chocolate shroom bars. Patiently waiting too see if this guy comes thru. Want to do some camping soon so that could be a real fun trip! Literally! |

It doesn't compare to taking LSD while pitching but figured i'd add this party/no hitter story here:
I remember reading about earl wilson of the boston red sox in Howie carr's book "hitman". Earl wilson wasn't scheduled to pitch for the sox the next day, so he decided to go out and party. he winds up I believe in johnnie martorano's nighclub Basin South. so wilson and one of the boston underworld's most notorious hitmen wind up partying all night. later, martorano, wilson and co are all sleeping it off when wilson gets a call from the sox. he has to pitch the first game of a double header. he wakes up martorano and gets him to drive him to fenway. martorano had to lean wilson up against a wall and ring the doorbell. he then took off so he didn't have to explain why the sox starting pitcher was wrecked. Knowing wilson was in this kind of condition, martorano went out and put all the money he could muster on the sox opponent (can't remember who). wilson then proceeds to toss a no hitter and Johnnie boy loses a bunch of money. Martorano said he later told wilson what he did. wilson replied something to the effect of "why didn't you tell me you had money on the game, i would have thrown it for you."
