Great all around W for the Tigers tonight.

But, costly as Polanco seperated his shoulder.

Another quality W last night.

Sox and Twins get to beat on each other for awhile as the magic number dwindles.

Tough loss last night. Down 2-1 and a lead off triple to start the 9th and couldn't get him home.

But, the Sox lost so the magic numbers comes down.

Can't hold a 5 run lead.

This series with the Sox coming up could make or break their season.

That series is big. I couldn't believe what Curtis Granderson said before the last series with Chicago....something to the effect of, "this series isn't so big for us, it's bigger for them"

....if I were a Tiger fan I would have been a little peeved about that statement.

Granderson, of course, has taken to K'ing in big spots....Marcus Thames has come back down to earth as well...Polanco is injured.....Bonderman and Verlander are looking very mortal lately....

Just my analysis....don't be offended because I tend to be highly critical of the Twins as well.

By the way, the Twins just got the same treatment from Toronto as your Tigers did from Texas.....very similar situation...but they came back to take 4 of 6 against Cleveland and Chicago.....the Tigers need 2 of 3 because Chicago has an easy sched the rest of the way.....perhaps the Twins help you out at the end of the year.

The season closes like this....
You guys get three games with KC and Chicago is in Minnesota for three.
Very favorable for Detroit....

That attitude came from Leyland. He was down playing that series because the Tigers had to go to Boston after that with the rational of neither series is more important than the other. I disagree but, they need to change their tune about this series.

I think it's a four game series. They need at least two games.

I really can't decide who to root for as a Twins fan. Can two teams lose one game?

I would be rooting for the Tigers since to get into the playoffs you first must pass the Sox.

However, the Twins will gain ground regardless of who wins provided of course they win.

Kenny Rogers on the hill tonight. Need to get this W.

Miner is scheduled tomorrow. He doesn't impress me that much.

Rogers pitches a great game. All cylinders firing well again. Hot head Guillen gets booted! Closer Rodney was solid! Twins loose! Great night to be at Comerica and a Tigs fan!Go for a 4 game sweep?
