Id vote for Biggio and Piazza. No one really jumps out at me besides those two. i do like Dale Murphy, Tim Raines and Alan Trammell but I doubt they're getting in this year.

I'd go Barry Bonds, Sammy Sosa, Mark McGwire, Roger Clemens, and Rafael Palmeiro.

It truly is a shame, there were some damn fine ball players that I looked up to as a young 'un. I played first base so McGwire and Palmeiro were naturally favorites of mine. Also, I am a Cubs fan, so seeing Sammy up there hurts. Maybe this is why Donnie Baseball should get in. Decent numbers on some pretty mediocre Yanks squads, and was totally clean. One of my favorite signs that I saw a fan holding up at a game during Bonds' assault on the HR record was: Ruth did it with hot dogs and beer. Aaron did it with class and grace. How did you do it, Barry?

A LOT of people seem to be grouping Piazza in with the steroid guys based solely on slight suspicion; might keep him out.
Anybody that would not vote for Biggio, short of a steroid scandal, should have their voting privileges revoked. That being said, might be Morris' year. I think many voters are, perhaps subconsciously, creating their own tiers, so to speak, by not voting for certain guys the first (or even first few) time(s) around. Not sure how I feel about that, because a "Hall of Famer" really should be a "Hall of Famer" from the start; at the same time, if it allows for some otherwise deserving guys to ultimately make it in because voters no longer feel obliged to stick to their guns ("I didn't vote for him then, I can't vote for him now"), it might be okay. |

I believe the follwing players should be in the hall especially the bolded ones:
Bernie Williams ,David Wells, Roger Clemens, Kenny Lofton, and Don Mattingly

Yep I agree, but its my homer choice. Tram was my favorite Tiger growing up, had his number in little league to boot.
Again homer bias, his 84 and 87 seasons were hall worthy and that's what is etched in my brain.

I know some people like to find 10 "Hall of Fame" seasons for a particular player, and I don't know if you can find that with Alan, but looking at his cumulative numbers, matched with his prime(s) and clutch play, I'm surprised he's not getting more of a push; particularly, on the heels of Larkin's induction.
