Speaking as the husband of a long-time Giants fan, Giants came out of the gate a disappointing 0-3 with 3 1 run losses.

The two team aces get lit up this weekend by the D-Backs, the worst of which today when they blew a 6-0 lead with Cain on the mound.

The scary part is, Barry Zito is pitching tomorrow in the HR haven that is Coors Field.

On the flip side of it, 14 runs in 3 games is nothing to sneeze at, compared to the offensive (both pronunciations of the word) outputs in previous seasons.

Very happy as an Os and Nationals fan with a 3-0 and 2-1 start. (As you may or may not know, grew up in MD closer to DC than Baltimore, so I grew up as a fan of the O's with no DC baseball team until the Nats moved to town, and adopted them, since they were in separate leagues).

Starting pitching was awful, not just the bullpen.

Overbay can still play. 3 for 4, 1 HR, 3 RBI's. Also Miley coming in when it was 6-0 and not allowing a run in 4 innings.

Fun game to watch yesterday.

Dbacks look very strong this year. Look for Chris Young to have a huge year. The Dbacks have some stud young arms that will keep them competitive for years to come.

And now i read that Carl Crawford is having his elbow looked at. So his return is probably a ways off. Bard wont last as a starter,he'll be the closer before too long. And i'd be shocked not to see Beckett go on the DL before too long. Valantine must be wondering what he got him self into. You're right, probably gonna be a long season.

Anyone see Miguel Cabrera complain about the batters box and win? He come to bat and thought the box was not far back enough. The game was delayed 5 minutes for the ground grew to redraw it. Some are saying this is a conspiracy by the White Socks to throw off batter, that's a stretch (no pun).

Quote:
Chicago — In what could be a first, the Tigers-White Sox game — the home opener for the Sox — was delayed after two batters in the top of the first inning on Friday because of an incorrectly laid-out batter's box.

Miguel Cabrera caught the mistake.

After White Sox starter Jake Peavy struck out Austin Jackson and Brennan Boesch, Cabrera pointed out that the positioning of the batter's box was incorrect as he stepped up to it.

The umpires agreed that it was too far forward and called for the grounds crew who broomed away the chalk and laid down a new box. Cabrera then flied out to right.

The matter took about five minutes to fix, but might have been the first chalk delay ever for the Tigers.

Angels have been crappy so far: offence not generating enough (where's AP?!?), not the best pitching (except Weaver) and brutal bullpen.

Too good of a team not to turn around but I expected a better start for sure.

This made me very very very mad. I know it's all about winning but this is bush league. At the majors you don't try to trick guys off the bases. Shame for the player falling for it, but kinda like hokcey... show some RESPECT.

Typical scumbag Phillies antics.

They deserved to lose that game, and series.

The box was redrawn wasn't it? Can't blame Miguel for his complete understanding of the batters box and where he stands. That type of attention to detail is why he won the batting title last year.

The white sox and Tigers have a history of foul play between the teams. Started with rob fick and possibly the greatest baseball fight I have ever seen. So good in fact you can't find clips of the fight, MLB has somehow destroyed every copy of it.

Keith foulke got his face destroyed, ordonez took the nastiest forearm shiver from bobby higginson, aj got bitched slapped around and then for a topper, fick took a wwf style beer shower from the fans.

They hate Detroit and Detroit hates the socks
