Yes I think his shtick is very annoying. Fortunately you've never had to listen to the Phillies' TV duo. These guys are wankers of the highest order, especially the color guy. Not homers, but the color guy especially thinks we're all watching baseball for the first time. And they talk over every minute of the game. You're not supposed to do that in baseball.

Pretty good, when your color man is questioning Bobby V's lineup last night, all Pawtucket Red Sox. I pretty much now know the Sox hate the Orioles more than the Yankees, and Ortiz is already talking about contract for next year. Why bother they have already blown the team up.

Jays got a walkoff win over the Twins last night. Yes I know that means absolutely nothing in the standings, but it is great to see them still really excited and congratulating eachother for a meaningless win. It was like they won the World Series, and it's great to see. Builds confidence and excitement for the next season.

I just posted on a Phillies blog that finishing strong is important. I don't believe in momentum carrying over to the following season, but finishing strong shows a team still has a desire to compete, even when its season ends early.

Ok so how does this all work now? If the AL East and West both finish in ties, do the Yankees/Orioles and A's/Rangers play tie break games for the division crown and then the losers play in the wildcard play-in game? Or do they have a predetrmined tie breaker for the division crowns?

Also, when teams play tiebreaker games do the stats in the 163rd (or in the potential above scenario 164th) game count towards regular season stats?

I guess it also already predetermined that the Card's/Braves will play in the NL play-in game as well? Am I interpreting all this correct?

a's/rangers tie-breaking game is today as they are currently tied.

yankees/orioles if tied after tonight play a one-game playoff tomorrow. (i think the orioles would host it).

yes the braves will host the cards on friday in the nl wild card game.

You know you're a TB Rays fan when your pitcher goes the entire game, strikes out 15, only allows 2 hits.....yet you still lose.

I can't believe this is actually going to happen. Texas was in first all season. This is what makes baseball so great. The season truly doesn't end until the 162nd game, and that blown 9th inning lead in April DOES matter.

I think I'm rooting for the A's to come out of the American League. They've got a lot of chippy ball players who are easy to root for, and THOSE are the teams that win championships.

Got to say, I wasn't really thinking it would happen, but damn good stuff! Sucks to be the Rangers right now! Swept by the A's to end the season!

PS, thanks for the acknowledgment.

I think you, my friend, got suckered by ESPN. I turned it on last night to see the A's/Rangers outcome (I'm off my boycott during football season) and they were talking about a possible tie in the AL west, which was completely not possible. God ESPN sucks.

Looks like Hamilton has lost interest, he blew 2 balls a couple of weeks ago also. Rangers are probably done by his cancer in the locker room, another team that will blow up there team in the off-season
