I'll give him the 2nd best nod.

With Verlander, you have a legit chance of seeing a no-no every single time the guy takes the mound. It's an awesome feeling to have when getting to watch him.

Kershaw was dominant in 2011, but going 8-8 and 13-10 doesn't put him number two in my mind. Don't get me wrong he is a great talent and in a few years he will be up there. I just think you have to string several seasons in a row before being mentioned as the best.

Verlander has a 17 win season, two 18 win seasons, 19 and then the 24. Verlander has also been to the series and two ALCS series. It can be argued he didn't pitch that well during the playoff runs, but the Tigers were there because of him.

I still put a couple of guys ahead of Kershaw as of now.

Halladay

Jesus Ortiz hit a bomb last night that hit Utah St. Not sure who the hell measures them but come on 446 ft, why even bother measuring them, had to have been the longest of the year way more than what they said.

Andy Pettitte not looking too rusty. It's an embarrassment the so called "Bronx Bombers" are having trouble scoring runs. A-Rod with a big night last night, about to turn the season around.

Jesus 1st day off for the Sox, they played 20 days in a row. Maybe they should keep playing, they have played a bit better the last 11.

So why can't the reviews be done by a "war room" in New York or wherever instead of having the umps leave the field, take an hour to do so, and then take another hour to get their fat asses back in place?

Good point. The league is really dragging their feet when it comes to doing anything with replay. If it was up to me almost everything would be reviewable. Like I said before if there's technology to get the call right why not do so? Some say the "human element" but, players in the majors deserve not to gte robbed of game due to poor umpiring. I agree there should be a war room so there's a third party looking at the play.

I am one that likes the human element to the game. But, the more and more I watch the game, the more and more I see umpires that are just flat out awful. They make an awful called strike or non called strike, and the batter or manager says anything at all - gone from the game. It seems like there are more than a few umpires (Joyce and West especially) that want the game to be more about them, rather than the players themselves.
