Who's king of the Quebec mountain?

Has anybody done a "top ten" kind of thread for this league? I've been away from the LNAH for awhile now and I'm just curious what some of the posters/followers of this league think are the best fighters.

Very dissappointed in their toughness this year. Frankie and Howe are great but c'mon this isn't the NHL. Obviously losing Dannick Lessard was horrible but to not fill his shoes with a heavyweight (or two) in unnacceptable. At least they're dropping in the standings maybe once the new GM comes in they'll turn it around.

Howe is still a kid...He will only improve. He actually is a quality hockey player...I am amazed he is not in the CHL or ECHL. He can play wing or defense. He does not take dumb penalties. He can skate a shift.

As a fighter he is willing every night and he understands his role when it comes to being a sheriff

My top 10 in no particular order (with notes on some of the other guys around the league):

Martin Lariviere
Hubert Poulin
Vincent Grondin
Ryan Murphy
Samuel Duplain
Martin Grenier
Gaby Roch
Curtis Tidball
Thomas Bellemare
Manny Frechette

Lariviere is constantly taking on guys with several inches and pounds more than himself and slugging it out every time.

Great to see Frechette back in action. He had hung up the skates after the 09/10 season and I read was only supposed to be with Sorel for 10 games but he's been there for 13 now so who knows; I'll take what I can get!

Poulin and Grondin are both showing up night in and night out for St.Georges and having some good battles

Duplain continues to prolong his career and pile up the fights; 400+ and counting

Roch was suckered by Brashear last month; not sure if he's returned yet as he had a concussion but he's a valuable asset to Jonquiere as he takes a regular shift and also mixes it up when he has to.

Tidball is still up there although he's taken some real hard shots this year but he likes to go wide open so he bound to take a few stunners on the chin

Bellemare still answers the bell when needed as well.

Murphy is a newcomer to the league with RDL that has done pretty good for a 1st year guy in this league.

Starenky is back with St.Georges after bouncing around the ECHL to start this season.

Yes, Francis Lessard is in Cornwall but he's not nearly the same guy he was any number of years ago. At this point it just looks like he wants his paycheck and if he has to fight, ok but he's not going to go wide open anymore.

Dannick Lessard I would say could have been a contender for the top spot this season but that nightclub shooting ended that possibility.

I'd also give a nod to Tyler Howe but his season is done as he's locked up back in MA on charges stemming from a 2011 home invasion and beating he was part of:
http://falmouth.patch.com/articles/s...-home-invasion
http://falmouth.patch.com/articles/v...-drugs-weapons

It's really too bad in his case as he was taking on anyone who wanted to go and had some real nice wins.

I'd also give a nod to Coude-Tremblay and Laferriere in Sorel and Vachon up in RDL.

Parker is still in the league but he isn't the same as he was back during his 70+ fight season, then again, who would be after an effort like that! Christian is there too but he's looking a lot more like Link Gaetz did towards the end rather than the Brandon Christian of old. His fights aren't very much anymore as he's locking up and not really getting off anything before either slipping or falling on top of someone else.

I'm new here to the LNAH but I noticed someone mentioned that Dannick Lessard has/had some legal troubles. I'd appreciate any info I could get. Thanks for the lists boys.

Wow, that is a lot to digest. What a downer for Howe.

Thanks for the link Knuckles. And as for Howe....what goes through these guys heads sometimes to make them do what they do?
