Quad City acquires Travis Granbois from Bloomington
MOLINE, Ill. (November 2, 2009) - The Quad City Mallards, proud International Hockey League (IHL) affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers, today announced that the team has acquired forward Travis Granbois from the Bloomington PrairieThunder in exchange for future considerations.
Granbois, 24, returns to the Quad Cities for a second stint with the Mallards, for whom he scored three goals and totaled eight points in 45 United Hockey League games as a rookie in 2006-07. Granbois has not played for the PrairieThunder this season- the Campbell River, British Columbia, native last month skated in the training camp of the ECHL's Bakersfield Condors. Last season Granbois scored 13 goals and produced 38 points while collecting 105 penalty minutes in 48 games with the PrairieThunder. Granbois arrived in Bloomington after scoring ten times and recording 31 points while spending a career high 136 minutes in the penalty box in 72 games with the Kalamazoo Wings in 2007-08. Granbois played for the Alberta Junior Hockey League's Bonnyville Pontiacs before turning pro.
