IHL Dispersal Draft Results

ROCHESTER, MI - The International Hockey League (IHL) conducted a dispersal draft on Wednesday to disperse players from the 2006-07 final rosters of the Chicago Hounds, Elmira Jackals, Quad City Mallards and Rockford IceHogs. Those four Member Clubs will not participate in the 2007-08 IHL season.

The order in which current Member Clubs selected players was based on their winning percentage in the final standings of the 2006-07 season, with lowest-ranked teams choosing first. I'm very jealous of Flint.........

If only FW would have used their heads a bit better and acquired someone who won't be in the AHL the entire next season, in Mike Sgroi.

Anyone think Littlejohn will stay with the Komets?

Littlejohn already signed with Elmira for this coming year in the Echl.

Pretty damn good draft when the vast majority of guys show up with a player link to a fight card on this site. I was surprised in some of the choices, like Littlejohn and Sgroi, who are already committed to playing elsewhere, but then again, it's nice to have rights to those players just in case.

I guess they thought by having Brent Henley, Morency and Richardson, that they'll have enough toughness for next season. But if I were them, I'd go pick up another middleweight; someone who'd be more active than just someone who's a **** stirrer who'll drop the gloves fairly often.

Guess their waiting to see what the new, tougher International League will be like for their club.

I wonder if Ryan Jorde will be back for them next year.

I think there's going to be a bit of a feeling out period for this league, since everyone was under the fallout of the "new" nhl for awhile, it may take some time for the IHL players and coaches to really figure out how things are gonna work. Then we may see more of an influx of grinders and fighters.

Rechlicz is not tough. He is big but he is clumsy. He will get beat by anyone who is a decent fighter. He has bad balance and lost more than he won. He's a pure goon but there must be better options out there.

Also he is a god awful player.

Awesome that figures to be my luck. We get a league that likes fighting and we go out and get one of the worst fighters. At least we are not for sure stuck with just him. Maybe he could get better or just get beat up all season.
