Fort Wayne's David Hukalo Named IHL Outstanding Defensive Forward

ROCHESTER, MI - The International Hockey League (IHL) announced Wednesday that Fort Wayne Komet right wing David Hukalo has been named the 2007-08 IHL Outstanding Defensive Forward as selected by league head coaches, general managers and members of the media.

The 29-year-old Edmonton, Alberta native has recorded 19 goals and 23 assists for a total of 65 points in 67 games played so far this season. He has also registered a plus-31 rating. His plus-31 rating is good for third on the Komets roster, as well as third in the IHL. Hukalo has scored three shorthanded goals for the Komets and six game winners. His six game winning goals tie him with two other Komet players for second most in the league.

Hukalo will be presented with the award on Sunday, April 13th.
