Sundogs Acquire Kip Brennan from Americans

Prescott Valley, AZ – The Arizona Sundogs announced today that they have acquired forward Kip Brennan from the Allen Americans in exchange for futures.

Brennan, a 32-year-old, Kingston, Ontario native has played in 30 games for the Allen Americans this season and has collected four goals, two assists and 114 penalty minutes.

Brennan has played in 61 National Hockey League (NHL) games for such teams as the Los Angeles Kings, Atlanta Thrashers, Anaheim Mighty Ducks and his most recent stint in 2007-08 with the New York Islanders. He was drafted by the Los Angeles Kings in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft and was selected in fourth round, 103 overall. While in the NHL the 6-foot-4, 222-pound left winger laced up in 61 games and tallied one goal, one assist and 222 penalty minutes.

He began his professional career in the American Hockey League (AHL) with the Lowell Lock Monsters in 2000-01 after playing six seasons of junior hockey. Brennan has split most of his career between the AHL and the NHL from 2000-2011. In 2006 he joined the Long Beach Ice Dogs of the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL) for 11 games and collected five points and 74 penalty minutes. In 2008-09 he began his season in Finland playing in 22 games and tallying three assists and 118 penalty minutes. Later that season Brennan joined the Hershey Bears of the AHL where they won the Calder Cup Championship. In 2011-12 while playing in Russia for the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) he was named the leagues Most Penalized Player with 240 penalty minutes.

“We are very eager to add Kip Brennan to our team.” said General Manager Chris Presson. “He is a very physical player and he will help add that depth that we are looking for.”

dont know much about the league these days but kip has been around awhile and is a loose cannon, im sure he will make fans happy !!

just saw the sundogs in prescott last weekend. They have a very tough player #2 cant remember his name. He's 240 pounds nobody would mess with him from quad city.

the sundogs look like their dying though. attendence is dwindling. they have ownership problems which is hilarious considering the yotes situation.

Yea he didnt get a lot of shifts but nobody went close to him .

Its funny that Smyth and Brennan are now teammates-
Brennan jumped Smyth earlier in the season, and I am pretty sure he was bashing him on twitter. It really seems like they didnt like each other. Now
