Prescott Valley, AZ – The
Arizona Sundogs announced today, they have acquired Brian Bicek and Matt McCready from the
Missouri Mavericks in exchange for defenseman Kyle Hood and future considerations.
Bicek, the 27-year-old Downers Grove, Illinois native joins the team after playing with the Mavericks in 21 games and collecting 19 points. The fifth year pro has previously skated with the
Evansville IceMen of the Central Hockey League (CHL) from 2010-12 and tallied 121 points in 124 games. In 2009-10 he played in 76 games with the
Muskegon Lumberjacks of the IHL and earlier in 2008 with the CHL’s Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees for 56 games.
McCready, the 5-foot-11, 180-pound defenseman laced up for 20 games with the Mavericks this season and collected six points. The 25-year-old, Ontario native spent his college career with the University of Windsor putting up 67 points in 107 games. McCready also skated in the playoff run with the Mavericks last season where he scored 4 points in 11 post-season games.
In Hood’s fifth season with the Sundogs he appeared in 17 games and scored three goals and five assists.
