Congratulations to Alexander the Great, 2 time defending MVP.
2-time defending Guess the Fight champ. I'll be back to defend my championships in 2009-10.
Me fail English? That's unpossible.

This was THE league to be in to see fights 2 years ago. They had a ton of tough guys.

Then the summer of 2008, the ECHL started signing away most of the CHL's tough guys. Just look at the top fighters by numbers in the CHL in 07-08, and see how many of those guys moved on to the ECHL.

The Bernier brothers (although Jonathan eventually went back to the CHL)
Robin Richards
Milan Maslonka
Gord Burnett
Kevin Harvey
Alex Penner
Kevin Cormier

Just to name a few. Add to that guys who left for the IHL (like Robin Big Snake), guys who were hurt most of the year (Mike Batovanja, for instance), or guys who left for the LNAH (Mario Joly, for instance), you take away a lot of their toughness.

Some of it also came along with the league losing a couple of teams each of the last couple of years (Youngstown and Austin after 07-08, New Mexico, Oklahoma City, and Rocky Mountain after 08-09, while gaining only Missouri and Allen).
