Mallards Head Coach/GM David Bell Resigns From Club

via an email that he personally sent out to the mallards booster club

Season Ticket Holders/ Booster Club:

I hope everyone has had a great summer!! We have lost several of last season’s top players for reasons I’d rather not discuss. Every player we had last year played hard and never quit on me and that’s all I can ask of them. I wish them only the best in the future. I have been busy building a team this off season full of speed and character.

I have been following your comments and concerns on FB and truly want to say I am as frustrated as you guys with the situation. It has been a very long and unsettling summer for myself and my situation with the Mallards ownership group.

This is why with great disappointment I am resigning from my position as Mallards Coach/GM. I want tothank you guys for welcoming my wife and I to Quad City last summer. Your support for me and the team was unbelievable and was very appreciated from day one right through the last game of the season. Quad City has a great fan base and are so deserving of a winning product. I am sorry I was not able to get our team into the playoffs last season.

I believe there is a very good foundation in place for whoever takes over and with a few more signings can be right in the mix this season.

Thanks again for making my time in QC so enjoyable and in this small hockey world you never know
when we might meet again.

All the Best,
Dave Bell
