CHL Suspends Jesse Perrin for One Game and Leo Thomas for Nine Games

GLENDALE, AZ – The Central Hockey League (CHL) announced today that Missouri Mavericks defenseman Jesse Perrin has been suspended one (1) game and Bloomington Blaze forward Leo Thomas has been suspended nine (9) games.

Perrin will miss the Mavericks next game (February 8 at Allen) as a result of receiving a match penalty in Tuesday’s game at Quad City. Perrin was given a major penalty for an ‘illegal check to the head’ infraction that is accompanied by the match penalty. Perrin’s lack of previous discipline along with the perceived lack of intent to injure was taken into account in the final decision.

After a review and investigation for his actions in a different league, Thomas’ suspension is a continuation of the penalty assessed by that league. Thomas will be eligible to return to the Blaze for February 28th’s game against Quad City.

I don't want to noob up these suspension threads but unless my reading comprehension is off, where does is say what Thomas did? 9 games is a lot. It's a "continuation of the penalty assessed by that league"...from what incident?

I think the CHL is saying since he was suspended by the SPHL they are upholding part of that in the CHL. But why did they let the Blaze sign him?

another question is also, why the hell did it take so long to do this and not when he was announced as being signed instead of after he'd already played games for the blaze?
