Allen, Texas - The
Allen Americans of the Central Hockey League announced on Thursday, that defenseman
Mike Berube has resigned with the team for the 2012-2013 season.
Mike Berube will be back with the Americans for a third season. The native of Edmonton, Alberta, joined Allen in 2010, playing in 65 games and registering 16 points. In 2011-2012, he played in 47 games, scoring 3 goals and 9 assists for 12 points.
“I’m excited to be coming back to Texas,” said Berube. “The
Allen Americans are one of the top organizations in minor league sports and the fan support is phenomenal.”
Berube has had two AHL call-ups over his pro career. In the 2009-2010 season, he played in four games for the Hartford Wolfpack. In 2011-2012 season, he played in five games for the
Texas Stars. Berube went to training camp with Texas last season and was one of the last players released, before returning to Allen.
“Mike is an experienced, reliable defenseman,” said Americans Head Coach
Steve Martinson. “He’s solid blue-liner and we are happy to have him back.”
