The
Missouri Mavericks and
Allen Americans struck a deal today with Allen sending goaltender Brian Mahoney-Wilson and defenseman Steve Kaunisto to the Mavs in exchange for rookie forward Lachlan MacIntosh.
The Americans (9-3-3) are in second place in the Berry Conference trailing the first place
Wichita Thunder by one point. They acquire MacIntosh who has three helpers and is a +1 in 11 games with Missouri.
The Mavericks (8-5-2) are tied for second place in the Turner Conference also trailing their conference leader (Evansville) by one point. They acquire Mahoney-Wilson (a recent Oakley CHL Goaltender of the Week award winner) who is 3-1-0 with a 2.50 goals against average and a .917 save percentage on the season. The rookie netminder has not seen action since Nov. 11 taking a back seat to Marco Cousineau (5-0-1) who was assigned by the
Anaheim Ducks earlier in November.
Kaunisto has a goal and four assists in 10 game with Allen this season and is carrying a +6 plus/minus rating. Last year in Wichita, Kaunisto scored five goals with 15 assists in 62 games.
