Stingrays Acquire Cameron Brodie from Thunder for Shawn Weller
North Charleston, S.C. – The South Carolina Stingrays, celebrating 20 seasons of hockey in the Lowcountry and proud ECHL affiliate of the Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League (NHL), announced today that the team has received defenseman Cameron Brodie and future considerations from the Stockton Thunder in exchange for forward Shawn Weller.
Brodie, 24, skated in 30 games with Stockton this season netting one goal and six assists for seven points. In three ECHL seasons, all with Stockton, the White Rock, British Columbia, native totaled 26 points (three goals, 23 assists) over 142 contests. Prior to turning pro, Brodie attended the University of British Columbia for one season registering three points (two goals, one assist) in 12 games. Weller, 26, dressed in 24 games with the Stingrays grabbing seven goals and eight assists for 15 points. |

I am torn on this one. I think Brodie was good for our team, and has done very well in his stay with the Thunder. But, I am looking forward to having Weller in the lineup(when he comes back from St. Johns). I do remember Shawn in Bako a few years ago, and I'm glad he's on our team now..
