Steelheads Sign Tyler Elbrecht and Mike Beck

Boise, ID - Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Brad Ralph announced Wednesday that the Idaho Steelheads have agreed to terms with rookie defensemen Tyler Elbrecht and Mike Beck.

Elbrecht, 24, played college hockey at Minnesota State, the same college program that produced former Steelhead standout Kael Mouillierat. Elbrecht spent the past two seasons as the squad's captain, appearing in a total of 142 games in his four-year career at Minnesota State. In that time, the 6-foot-4 defenseman scored three goals and added 24 assists.

The 27-year-old Beck has spent the past two seasons playing professionally in Europe after a four-year college career at the University of New Hampshire. He totaled 63 points (13 goals, 50 assists) in 83 games in Sweden and Norway after wrapping up his career at UNH. During his season in Sweden ('11-'12), he led the league in assists by a defenseman (30) and points by a defenseman (35).
