Steelheads Sign Patrick Cullity
Boise, ID - Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Brad Ralph announced Friday that the ECHL's Idaho Steelheads have agreed to terms with defenseman Patrick Cullity.
The 25-year-old blue-liner split last season between Utah of the ECHL and the AHL's Springfield Falcons and Abbotsford Heat, spending the bulk of the season in the AHL, the highest level of minor-league hockey in North America. His rights were acquired by Idaho from Utah in June to complete an earlier trade. Cullity had nine points in 44 games with the Falcons and added an assist in a five-game stint with the Heat, while skating in 20 games with the Grizzlies at the ECHL level. He appeared in two games against Idaho last season. The Massachusetts native has also played professionally for Syracuse (AHL) and South Carolina (ECHL) after his college career at the University of Vermont. Ralph on Cullity: "Pat is going to bring leadership and experience to Idaho. He's a big, mobile defenseman who can play in any situation, so he'll play big minutes for us. He also brings a lot of work ethic and character to the locker room, which is another big plus." Cullity joins Matt Case, Deron Cousens, Scott Fletcher, and Scott Todd as defensemen on Ralph's training-camp roster. Training camp opens October 1 at CenturyLink Arena in Boise. |
