Solar Bears Acquire Andrew Engelage from Grizzlies

Orlando, FL - The Orlando Solar Bears announced today that they have acquired goaltender Andrew Engelage from the Utah Grizzlies in exchange for future considerations.

Engelage (6'5", 192 lbs.) played 51 games for the Utah Grizzlies last season, compiling a 25-21-0-3 record with a 2.63 GAA and .911 save percentage. He has spent parts of three seasons playing in the ECHL with Reading and Utah, appearing in 102 games with a 51-37-3-5 record, 5 shutouts, a 2.83 GAA, and .909 save percentage. He has played 12 games for the Toronto Marlies of the AHL (American Hockey League), and has been awarded as the ECHL's Goaltender of the Week on four occasions.

The Oshawa, Ontario, native skated for three seasons in the OHL (Ontario Hockey League) before joining the professional ranks, all with the Windsor Spitfires. In his final OHL season in 2008-09, Engelage finished the season with a 46-4-1 record to go along with a 2.35 GAA and .914 save percentage. That year, he backstopped his team to both OHL and Memorial Cup Championships.

"Andrew is a very skilled and established goalie," said Head Coach Drake Berehowsky. "Orlando will be a great place for him to continue to develop his skills."
