Are you really rooting for the arena to close? You find this exciting? FYI the ice plant is fixed.

To be honest I wouldn't care at this juncture either way. If they close it fine, if it's open fine. The goal of the arena was to "revitalize" downtown(eventhough it did take away from a business or two causing them to move) We know after 13 years that just hasn't happened. Sure i'll bet a place like Rounding Third makes some extra cash on game nights or event nights but I don't think it's that much at the sametime.

I want more sports, but it will never happen. Too small a geographical location, etc. The arena is too small for a lot of wishful thinking things. To be honest i've grown a bit bored of the hockey. Seeing the same 3 teams everyother home game gets old. Atleast in the UHL each team had a core and it developed rivalries and intensity, etc. Now it's a lot of roster changing and guys all over the place. The more I think about it the more I would actually be satisfied with USHL or high caliber juniors. Atleast the rosters won't be in flux all season.

Your dreaming on high caliber juniors. USHL and NAHL are not high caliber. They are okay and getting better but not high caliber. I think I have seen some of the major junior teams go for $2-3 million and then you need some folks with some name recognition to do the coaching and recruiting so clubs can be scouted and continue to grow. I feel bad for you that you can't see that for the first time since the place has been built there will be an owner who actually cares what goes on there.

Its not QMJHL or WHL. But...they do send a lot of players o the NHL, unlike the ECHL. We have Rivet as a connection now! I'm sure Doc knows peeps! I think Doc cared, but the first couple years were cake when every game was selling like hot cakes and he was just watching the cash roll in. STED's fault, they owned and did nothing. They had Doc signed up to do their dirty work.
