San Francisco Signs Martin Lee
San Francisco, Calif. - The San Francisco Bulls Professional Hockey Team, proud affiliate of the San Jose Sharks, announced today the signing of defenseman Martin Lee. With just 23 days until the drop of the puck on October 12, the Bulls have 16 players signed.
"Martin is going to be another solid addition to our defense core that is starting to shape up," said SF Bulls President and Head Coach Pat Curcio. "He was sought after rookie by many teams. We believe he has the potential to move up the ranks fairly quickly." Lee, 23, captained Elmira College, a powerhouse in the NCAA at the Division III level. He is a two-time ECAC West Defensive Player of the Year recipient, as well as an ACHA Third-Team All-American. In 2011-12, his final season with Elmira, Lee led the team's defense in scoring with 19 points (3 goals, 16 assists) in 26 games. Over four years with Elmira, Lee finished with 52 points (8 goals, 44 assists) in 99 contests. The 6-foot, 3-inch, 200-pound Toronto, native, helped lead Elmira to first in the conference during the regular season and to the NCAA tournament four consecutive years. Lee was also a member of the All-Academic Team and a Presidential Scholar, while at Elmira. "I am very excited to be a part of the unique experience of bringing professional hockey back to San Francisco," said Lee. "I have heard nothing but great things about the entire Bulls organization and the passionate fans of San Francisco. I am looking forward to kicking off my professional hockey career in such a great city. "
