Reading, PA – The
Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the
Washington Capitals of the National Hockey League and the
Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League, today announced that the team has signed defenseman
Anthony Pisano to an ECHL contract. The Royals also activated goaltender Sergey Kostenko from the team’s Reserve List and placed forward
Ethan Cox on Reserve. In a separate transactions previously completed, the Royals released defenseman
James Sanford from his ECHL contract.
This season, Pisano (6’6/257) (23), who was born in New York, New York and hails from Andover, Massachusetts, has scored one goal and assisted on four others (five points) in twenty-one games with the
Danbury Whalers of the Federal Hockey League. Pisano, a second year pro who played two games with the
Trenton Titans of the ECHL last season, leads the Whalers with 167 penalty minutes. Sanford recorded one assist in two games with Reading.
